I am a sociologist who examines how people’s strategies for negotiating unequal social relations are implicated in the reproduction of domination and inequality. My work engages with diverse areas of sociology, including economic sociology, stratification, class, culture, work, elites, consumption, and social theory.
My award-winning research has been published in Sociological Science, Socius, and Sociological Forum. My new article, “Class Experience Mobility through Consumption, Work, and Relationships,” is out now in Sociological Theory. A book based on this work, Borrowing Class, has been invited by the University of Chicago Press.
I completed my PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Starting Fall 2025, I will be Assistant Professor of Sociology at Baylor University.
