Madeline Reed Jones

I am a dissertator at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Department of Consumer Behavior & Family Economics and a graduate student fellow at the Institute for Research on Poverty.

I study household finance, health, and food security. I use financial and health care data to study the effect liquidity (e.g. savings and access to credit) has on economic decision-making. I apply social science theories to better understand individual decision-making with regard to health and well-being using causal and descriptive analysis of data.

I received the 2022 Schurch Thomson Graduate Research Excellence Award for my research on health and household finance.
